PVSchools Program Seeks Volunteers

Paradise Valley Unified Schools’ (PVSchools) Volunteer In Paradise (VIP) program was recently named a first place Magna Award winner by the National School Boards Association in a national recognition program.

Community volunteers are invited to become VIPs and provide academic assistance to students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Students throughout PVSchools are in need of additional support.

Volunteer orientations will be held August 17 from 2-4pm and September 18 from 9:30-11:30am at PVSchools district office, 15032 North 32nd Street, Phoenix. For more information and to register for an orientation, visit www.pvschools.net/vip. Food Bank Seeks Volunteers

CAVE CREEK – The Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center seeks volunteers to conduct weekly food pick-ups at Bashas’, Fry’s, Safeway and other stores. The commitment is just one day per week, typically involving approximately one to two hours. Pick ups normally are in the early morning (7-9am), although the timing is up to the volunteer. Donations then are brought to the food bank.
