Phoenix Residents: Let Your Voice Be Heard On Proposed Budget

budget hearingsThe City of Phoenix is in the process of preparing its 2016-17 budget.  Last week, City Manager Ed Zuercher presented the proposed Trial Budget to the Mayor and City Council.

Residents are invited to attend community hearings to discuss the proposed budget and provide input and ideas and ask questions of council members and city staff.

Hearings began today and continue through Tuesday, April 19. The city will conduct 15 budget hearings at various times and locations throughout the city in English and Spanish. Accommodations can also be made for the hard of hearing.

These meetings provide a forum for public discussion. After the community’s review, the city manager will present a revised proposed budget to the City Council on May 3 with a Council decision on May 17. The approved budget will take effect July 1.
