Hot Chili Cool Blues Fundraiser For KidsRead USA

The Valley’s top chefs will serve their best chili recipe at the Hot Chili Cool Blues Party to help raise funds for KidsRead USA. Hosted at The Hotel Valley Ho, the event will feature chili creations from some of the Valley’s top chefs including Chuck Wiley and Justin Pfeilsticker of Hotel Valley Ho, Damon Brasch of Green Vegetarian, Carolyn Ellis of Arcadia Farms, Vincent Guerithault of Vincent’s on Camelback, Rory Hewitt of Phoenix City Grille, Razz Kamnitzer of Razz’s Restaurant, Deirdre Pain of Malee’s Thai Bistro, Steve Freidkin of Texaz Grill, Michael Mullins of Mariposa in Sedona and Eugenia Theodosopoulos of Essence Bakery Café, each contributing their own chili recipe.

The Hot Chili Cool Blues Party will feature the blues-rock music of Cold Shott & the Hurricane Horns, featuring Bob Corritore on the harmonica. The event will also feature a live auction with proceeds donated to KidsRead USA.

Guests will help raise funds to buy books for impoverished third graders in the Balsz and Osborn School Districts. Since 1996, KidsRead USA has given more than 40,000 free books to children in need. For many recipients, the first book they are given by KidsRead USA is the first book they have ever owned.

The Hot Chili Cool Blues Party will be held Sunday, November 1, from 6-9:30pm, at Hotel Valley Ho, 6850 East Main Street in Scottsdale. Tickets for the event are $150 per person and can be purchased online at
