Craft Brewery Offers “Beer With Benefits”

DrJeckyleBeerDr. Jekyll’s Craft Brewery debuted a line of organic craft beers with super food ingredients, and now beer lovers can “fortify” their diets with acai berry, turmeric, flax seed oil, cinnamon oil, hawthorn berry, grapefruit fiber and other nutrients.

Altadena, California-based Dr. Jekyll’s teamed with biotechnology firm Virun for a patented process for brewing super foods and nutrients into “beers with benefits.” Meeting the functional beverage and $19.6 billion craft beer markets head-on, each brew contains six to eight “superfoods” known for their nutrient content and health enhancing properties.

“The demand for Dr. Jekyll’s organic beer with superfoods has been terrific and the reviews from craft beer enthusiasts, retailers and consumers has been gratifying,” says Shawn Hillman, craft beer manager at Phoenix-based Quail Distributing.

Bio Beer, Beer Attack and Beer Belly are handcrafted, vegan and non-GMO beers and are sold at Whole Foods, Cost Plus World Market, Tops Liquors, specialty retailers and bars, pubs and restaurants throughout Arizona in 12-ounce and 22-ounce bottles as well as on draught.
