Police Department Offers Summer Security

Paradise Valley PD offers vacation check

With the uptick in the Town of Paradise Valley burglaries this year, residents need to exercise caution in securing their homes, especially when leaving for vacation. If you’re planning on being away for an extended period of time, there is a service available to residents of Paradise Valley called vacation watch. The Paradise Valley Police Department will conduct security checks of homes that are temporarily unoccupied during vacation time.

  • Vacation watches will be provided for a minimum of seven days and a maximum of four weeks.
  • Arrangements should be made with a private security company beyond four weeks.
  • The home must be unoccupied during the indicated times.
  • Homeowners or occupants must complete a new vacation watch form for each service request and submit in person at the Paradise Valley Police Department.
  • If the homeowner or occupant returns home earlier than the time indicated on the vacation watch form they must notify Paradise Valley Police Department immediately of their return.
  • Officers only will inspect readily accessible areas of the property.

  1. As a side note, I’d like to mention that the wonderful welcome sign for Paradise Valley was designed by ASU design students who were taking my Design Rhetoric (GRA 345) course at the time: Natalie Krenzer, Danielle Hensley and Joe De Le Ree. Town Engineer Bill Mead said the ASU students’ interest in taking on the project saved the town $27,000.
