AZ Mayo Clinic: On Best Hospitals List

U.S. News & World Report has named Mayo Clinic’s campus in Arizona to its 2012-13 list of “Best Hospitals.” Mayo Clinic in Arizona ranked in the top 50 in two specialties –   Geriatrics and Nephrology.

“Recognitions like this are a testament to our gifted staff who place patients’ needs first every day,” says Wyatt Decker, M.D., CEO of Mayo Clinic in Arizona. “Our employees are critical to the success of Mayo Clinic.”

Mayo is currently building a 100,000-square-foot proton beam therapy center, which will flank its Phoenix hospital, located at 56th Street and Mayo Boulevard (near the Loop 101) in Northeast Phoenix.  Several hundred construction jobs will be created between now and the opening of the facility in 2016.  Last fall, the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale announced the expansion of Mayo Medical School, expected to open by 2015. The school will offer both a medical degree granted by Mayo and a master’s degree in the Science of Health Care Delivery through ASU.
