Cave Creek’s Desert Foothills Library: Something For Everyone This Summer!

August has everything under this sun for the community at Desert Foothills Library – from movies and mysteries to learning how to organize, gain financial security, get healthy and more. Here are a few highlights this month:

Desert Foothills Library Independent Film Festival 2012. Enjoy a selection of multiple award-winners from independent film festivals around the world. Free popcorn and soft drinks will be available.

Ladies – Let’s Get It Together!
10:30-12pm; August 3-24 (4 week series)

A fun and interactive workshop for women on how to organize personal records. Create and organize a complete records binder. Gain peace of mind from knowing all your critical records, documents and affairs are put together in one convenient, secure location.

  • Secure places and passwords
  • Retirement accounts, insurance policies, tax and real estate records

Medical Qi Gong: Ask the Scottsdale Healthcare Expert
1:30-2:30pm; Friday, August 16

Instructor LauRha Frankfort returns to share more about how to boost your energy and find relief from many medical conditions. For all ages and conditions (can be adapted for seated exercise)

Exploring Your Artistic Nature
10-11:30am; Thursday, August 23

Join artist Roberta Kritzia as she re-creates an art studio environment for an Art Production workshop. All levels are welcome. Bring your own art supplies, i.e., watercolors, oil pastels, paper, colored pencils, brushes, water holder and paint rags. (No oils or acrylics) or pay $10 material fee (to instructor day of). Build a Salad Container Garden
11am; Saturday, August 11 (Ages 3-5)

Join master gardener Jano Nightingale as we prepare for Arizona’s growing season. Participants will plant everything a preschooler needs for a delicious container garden. Limited participation.

Evening Family/Pajama Story Time
5-5:30pm; Wednesday, August 29 (Ages 0-5)

Wear your favorite pajamas for this fun, pajama story time in which participants will read stories and sing songs.
