Food Bank In Desperate Need Of Donations

Food supplies for families in need are running very low this summer, when kids are home from school and other household expenses are higher. In fact, the need for emergency food jumps three-fold this time of year. The City of Scottsdale is asking the community for assistance right now for the Vista del Camino Food Bank, which is in dire need of everyday items like peanut butter and boxed foods. The food bank needs:

  • Boxed prepared meals (Mac n’ cheese, Hamburger Helper)
  • Cereal and canned goods
  • Prepared meals (chili, ravioli), meats (tuna, chicken)

Other items most needed include spaghetti sauce, pasta, rice, dried or canned beans, jelly, soup and canned fruit. Food donations are also accepted at any Scottsdale Public Library location. Donations can be dropped off between 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, at Vista, 7700 East Roosevelt Street. Monetary donations can be made to Concerned Citizens for Community Health (CCCH) and mailed to Vista’s address or made online. Donations to CCCH, a qualifying charity under tax code, are tax deductible. Call Vista at 480.312.2323 for more information.
