Tesseract Opens Spring Production

Tesseract School opens its Middle School spring production of Once Upon a Mattress, an adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fable The Princess and The Pea, Thursday, May 17 at 6:30pm at the Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) Center for Performing Arts.
Tesseract students in grades five through eight will perform three evening performances from May 17 through Saturday, May 19 with an additional 2pm matinee on May 19.

“The Middle School spring production is an annual event for all ages and one that the entire Tesseract community looks forward to every year,” says Terri Scullin, Tesseract Drama and Music Educator and Middle School Musical Director. “When we moved the production to PVCC four years ago, we raised the scope tremendously and enabled our student actors and actresses to perform before a much larger audience in a professional space.”
In addition to presenting Once Upon a Mattress, Tesseract School also presents its third annual Visual Arts exhibit from May 17-19 for students in grades five through 12. The students create a wide array of art, ranging from the fifth grade’s interpretation of 1930s abstract work of Robert Delaney to ninth grade pottery to iPad art in grades 11 and 12. Middle and Upper School students also incorporated additional influence from their studies at the Musical Instrument Museum program in Phoenix.

Paradise Valley Community College Center for Performing Arts is located at 18401 North 32nd Street in Phoenix. Tickets are $16.50 and are available at www.showtix4u.com. For more information, call 480.385.3673 or visit www.tesseractschool.org.
