First Ever Spring Training Fest Slated

The Inaugural 2012 Spring Training Festival is headed to Scottsdale on February 25-26. The free admission event will honor and celebrate the tradition of spring training and the Cactus League here in the Valley of the Sun. The Scottsdale Charros, a local non-profit group dedicated to bolstering education, youth sports and local economic growth, in conjunction with the City of Scottsdale play proud hosts to the festivities.

Included in the fun are exhibits such as Mad Science of Baseball, an interactive exploratorium of America’s favorite pastime and a new Cactus League memorabilia museum. There will be special guest appearances from baseball greats like Hall-of-Famer Rollie Fingers, three-time World Series champ and Cy Young winner, and local celebs such as Dave A. Stone, director and producer of Arizona’s own feature-length baseball film One Hit From Home. Visitors will also be able to take in great eats from some of Scottsdale’s favorite restaurants and enjoy a beer garden.

This first ever event will offer great fun for all ages and be the perfect kick off to the Cactus League Spring Training. It will be held at the Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza, located at 7380 East 2nd Street in Downtown Scottsdale. For more information, visit or call 480.990.2977.
